We're saddened to announce the passing of former Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing Dean Mary Klotz Walker, who led the school from 2007 to 2009. Dr. Walker was a dedicated and tireless nurse educator whose career spanned more than 50 years. She held faculty positions at multiple universities, published numerous research papers, and was active in policy and leadership nationally and locally, including with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the American Nurses Association.

Dr. Walker was a Loyola Nursing alumna (BSN '72) and earned graduate degrees from the University of Illinois Chicago and the University of Chicago. We extend our condolences to her family and gratitude for her committment to our school and the nursing profession.
