September is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. 💜

This month, we’re raising awareness about gynecologic cancers and the importance of knowing your risk, recognizing potential warning signs, and staying up to date with recommended screenings.

Gynecologic cancers can take many forms, and each has its own risk factors, symptoms, and treatment considerations. That’s why understanding your health and talking with your healthcare provider about concerns is so important.

A little-known fact: cervical cancer is the only gynecologic cancer with a routine screening test. Pap tests and HPV testing can help detect changes early, when they may be easier to treat. For other gynecologic cancers, there are no routine screening tests for people without symptoms, making it especially important to know your risk, recognize changes in your health, and talk with your healthcare provider about any concerns.

Pay attention to changes in your health, know what’s normal for you, and don’t hesitate to talk with your healthcare provider about symptoms or concerns.

Awareness, early detection, and regular preventive care can make a difference. 💜
Let’s keep the conversation going and support everyone affected by gynecologic cancer.

LOOKING BACK ON AN AMAZING SEASON! 👟✨
Before our students headed off for summer break in July, our MCC Runner’s Club wrapped up a season full of miles, motivation, teamwork, and plenty of fun!

Week after week, our students showed up and put in the work—running anywhere from 2 to 5 miles while supporting and encouraging one another along the way.

We’re so proud of everything they accomplished and grateful to everyone who helped make the season a success! 💜
And just like that… September is almost here! 👀🏃‍♀️

We’re excited to get back together and hit the ground running, including at the Epilepsy Foundation Rodeo 5K Run happening this September! 🤠🐎👟💜

More details about the Rodeo 5K and our upcoming running activities will be coming soon, so stay tuned!

Get those sneakers ready… we’ll see you in September!

It was a pleasure hosting our annual Medical Assisting, Clinical Medical Assisting, and Phlebotomy Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC) meeting at MCC’s Chicago Main (LaSalle) campus! 🩺

We had meaningful discussions about the medical assisting field, including the growing demand for skilled professionals and the opportunities and challenges associated with entry-level medical assisting. The valuable feedback from our OAC members helps us continue improving our programs and ensuring our students are well-prepared for the workforce.

We also enjoyed giving our OAC members a tour of the campus, classrooms, and Medical Assisting clinical lab. It was wonderful connecting, sharing ideas, and learning from one another.

A special thank you to Balitha Greenfield, BSBA, RMA, Associate Director, for hosting this year’s event at MCC and bringing our OAC members together for such an insightful and productive meeting.

We appreciate everyone who shared their expertise and support, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration and welcoming everyone back next year!
