LOOKING BACK ON AN AMAZING SEASON! 👟✨

Before our students headed off for summer break in July, our MCC Runner’s Club wrapped up a season full of miles, motivation, teamwork, and plenty of fun!

Week after week, our students showed up and put in the work—running anywhere from 2 to 5 miles while supporting and encouraging one another along the way.

We’re so proud of everything they accomplished and grateful to everyone who helped make the season a success! 💜
And just like that… September is almost here! 👀🏃‍♀️

We’re excited to get back together and hit the ground running, including at the Epilepsy Foundation Rodeo 5K Run happening this September! 🤠🐎👟💜
More details about the Rodeo 5K and our upcoming running activities will be coming soon, so stay tuned!

Our summer classroom spotlight concludes with our English for Healthcare class! ☀️🏥

Designed for students pursuing careers in healthcare, this class focuses on building the English skills needed to succeed in clinical and professional settings by:

🩺 Strengthening medical vocabulary and healthcare terminology
💬 Practicing clear, professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams
📝 Improving reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through real-world healthcare scenarios
🌎 Building the confidence to communicate effectively in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare environments

Our English for Healthcare students are preparing for rewarding careers by developing the language skills needed to provide compassionate, effective care and succeed in today’s healthcare workforce.

Thank you for following along with our summer classroom spotlight series as we celebrate the dedication of our students and instructors.

Our students from Midwestern Career College (MCC) had an incredible professional development experience at Google’s Chicago office! 🌎✨

Students from our AAS programs in Business, Accounting, IT, and our ESL programs toured the office and participated in a workshop focused on Building Your Personal Brand.

They also shared their professional backgrounds, experiences, and career journeys, highlighting the diverse talent and perspectives within the MCC community. With students from 45+ countries, MCC is proud to create opportunities that connect our global community with real-world professional experiences.

Our summer classroom spotlight continues with our Post-Advanced ESL class! ☀️📚
At this level, students polish their English skills by:

📖 Reading and evaluating advanced academic and professional texts
💬 Communicating with confidence through presentations, discussions, and collaborative activities
✍️ Writing clear, polished essays, research papers, and workplace documents
🌎 Refining the language and critical-thinking skills needed for success in college, careers, and everyday life

Our Post-Advanced ESL students are building the confidence and communication skills they need to thrive in academic, professional, and community settings while preparing for their next goals.

Our summer classroom spotlight continues with our Advanced ESL class! ☀️📚

At this level, students refine their English skills by:

📖 Analyzing complex texts and engaging with advanced reading materials
💬 Leading discussions, presenting ideas confidently, and communicating with greater fluency
✍️ Writing well-organized essays, reports, and professional correspondence with accuracy
🌎 Strengthening the communication skills needed for college, career advancement, and everyday success

Our Advanced ESL students are fine-tuning their English proficiency and preparing for success in higher education, the workplace, and beyond.
