LUC Peer Advisors

LUC Peer Advisors The Loyola University Chicago Peer Advisors allow for first year students to be acquainted with available resources, clubs/organizations, and college life.

As part of the first year experience, all first year students are required to take UNIV 101 that is taught by their academic advisor and a peer advisor. This class is a required course for a student to graduate from the university. As peer advisors, we have responsibilities to both our academic advisor, that we work with, and our students, whom we serve.
1) Academic Advisor: administrative tasks

(e-mailing, reaching out to students, attendance, assistance with grading, etc.); presentation (activity facilitation, creation of projects, encourage discussion); and positivity (encourage a welcoming nature to the classroom, mediate conflicts, promote a positive relationship between the academic advisor and their students)

2) Students: building a strong connection between the student and their peer advisor/academic advisor; being a resource, advocate, and friend to the students; and conduct Chill and Chats for students to feel welcomed and willing to develop meaningful relationships.
