This Spring, the International Studies department is excited to hold the annual INT Student Research Conference once again. This is an entirely student-run conference aimed at spotlighting the voices of students. The conference theme this year is “Beyond the Future: Rethinking, Rebuilding, and Reimagining.”

We are currently calling for students to submit their research abstracts! This can be research started in previous classes or a passion project connected to the theme of Beyond the Empire! Possible topics include Anti-imperialism, World Order, Technology, Environmental Justice, and more! The deadline for submissions is on Sunday, December 6th at midnight. You can submit or raise questions to [email protected].

Once students submit their abstracts, the committee will go through each project and select several final candidates to develop their research further and present their findings at the conference as a separate panel or on poster boards.

If you feel uncertain about the abstract, research process, or how to connect your work to the theme, the conference committee is here to assist in your research journey! We will be hosting an abstract workshop on Wednesday, October 28, 4:00-5:30! You can come with a finished abstract that we can help you look over, or you can come with nothing at all and we can assist you in finding a research direction! We will be explaining what an abstract is and giving advice on how to build one. We hope to see you there!
