Join us for a rare and powerful conversation with Andrzej Poczobut - renowned Polish-Belarusian journalist, dissident, and an unwavering symbol of free speech and resilience.
The discussion will be moderated by Belarusian playwright and activist Andrei Kureichik.
Why you should be there: Poczobut spent years exposing authoritarianism from inside Belarus as a correspondent for Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza, leading to repeated persecution by the political regime. Arrested in 2021 and sentenced to 8 years in prison for his work and activism, he was released in 2026 as part of a prisoner exchange. Awarded the European Parliament’s Sakharov Prize and Poland’s Order of the White Eagle, he brings firsthand insight into political resistance, press freedom, and human rights today.
