We are beyond proud to announce that our COACH got SHSS TEACHER OF THE YEAR 🏆🙌🏼 Not only is she a great mock trial coach, but she’s also a fantastic teacher in our CJC Department! She’s a practicing attorney and adjunct professor at the law school too, so this award truly shows how much time and effort she puts into her students, in and out of mock trial 🫶🏼 Congrats are in order indeed 🥳

Just because the season is over doesn’t mean we are 😋 Several members of our team volunteered as witnesses for the Immigration Court CLE hosted by Sharma-Crawford this weekend and even got a certificate of appreciation 💪🏼

What a weekend 😅 team 1086 went to Geneva for ORCS and it was such a rollercoaster we just had to share it with you

Highlights:
1. calling the fire department post round 1 because of sprinklers going off in the restaurant next door when we were getting dinner 🚒
2. getting stuck in the elevator at the courthouse 🛗
3. going to Chicago 🫘 biking around 🚲 and missing the train 🚂
4. AC not working in the car on the 8 hour drive back 😊

Nonetheless, we had so much fun and can’t wait for next year! UMKC is cooking, stay tuned 🫡

What’s that 🤨 UMKC is going to… ORCS!? That’s right 💪🏼 This weekend we sent two teams to Springfield for Regionals and 1086 earned A BID to ORCS 🏆🥳 Shoutout to 1087 for their honorable mention 🙌🏼⭐️

In true UMKC spirit there were four individual awards on both teams: Charles Neville with an outstanding witness award on both sides🕵🏾‍♂️ 👨🏾‍⚕️Thistle Wolfe with an outstanding witness award 👩🏻‍⚕️ Alia Abdelgawad with an outstanding attorney award 👩🏻‍💼

Thank you for hosting regionals and great job to everyone who competed this weekend!

That’s a wrap on first semester!! Went ice skating and had dinner as a last get together before break ⛸️❄️ and it ended with only one trip to the ER 🙏🏼 🏥 Stay tuned for next semester 🫡

This weekend we hosted our annual invitational and had so much fun!! We had two of our teams compete and Team 1086 took home 2nd place 🥈🏆 we couldn’t be more proud 🙌🏼

Team 1087 competed at the Mock Chalk Invitational hosted by 💙❤️ We had so much and loved competing against the schools we went against!!
