Last week, President Mark C. Reed joined city, faith, business, and education leaders as part of a delegation from Chicago for a private audience at the Vatican with Pope Leo XIV.
During Reed's brief time with the pontiff, Pope Leo mentioned that his mother began her college career at Mundelein College (now part of Loyola) and that his brother John is a proud Loyola Rambler.
Reed called the experience "a grace-filled moment," and he is set to return to the Vatican next month as part of a delegation of Jesuit university presidents.
