Paula Skye Tallman, PhD, earned a pair of national awards from the American Anthropological Association.

The Loyola University Chicago chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu, the international honor society of Jesuit colleges and universities, inducted 186 new members on Sept. 27, 2026, including 70 from the College of Arts and Sciences. Alpha Sigma Nu recognizes students who distinguish themselves in scholarship, loyalty, and service, and selection is one of the highest honors a student can receive at a Jesuit university.

Dongryul Lee, DMA, has been awarded a 2026 commission from the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition. Lee was one of nine composers selected from more than 200 applicants for this year’s Barlow Endowment General and LDS commissioning programs. Together, the programs will provide $80,000 in grants to support the selected composers as they create new musical works.

Members of the College of Arts and Sciences and the Loyola Polish community joined the Legion of Young Polish Women (LYPW) for its Sweet September Serenade event over the weekend.

The LYPW has been an incredible partner in helping bring the Center for the Study of the Polish Diaspora a step closer to reality. Following a generous gift earlier this year, the LYPW chose to make the Center the beneficiary of this year’s event.
