Graduate Criminal Justice Organization, Loyola University Chicago This site is to provide information to Criminal Justice/Criminology graduate students at Loyola University Chicago. and B.S./M.A.

Students in the Criminal Justice/Criminology M.A. programs have many opportunities to socialize with fellow graduate students and faculty, participate in service activities, and study in the research and graduate student community office. Students often study and complete projects in the office which is conveniently located next to faculty offices, and faculty are always willing to mentor students

and answer questions. The department sponsors the Graduate Student Criminal Justice Organization (GSCJO). The Graduate Student Criminal Justice Organization hosts special tours, presentations, movie documentary nights, and other social and intellectual activities.

The Council of Advisors to Reduce Recidivism through Employment (CARRE) is hosting its annual policy conference on Monday, October 5th, from 10a - 1:30p at the UIC Student Center East.

CAARE is comprised of over 100 individuals, organizations, and institutions committed to developing and implementing strategies that advocate for policy change to increase access to employment for individuals with criminal records. The conference will highlight the year's accomplishments and upcoming initiatives, as well as provide a forum for sharing information, ideas, policies, and programs.

Throwback to when the Graduate Criminal Justice Organization volunteered with the Salvation Army’s Pathway Forward Program, a community reintegration program for individuals who are returning to the community following incarceration located on Chicago’s near-west side, to wrap toys children with incarcerated parents. Applications were received by the Salvation Army from incarcerated parents in Illinois requesting Christmas gifts for their children. The program was launched by the Salvation Army in 1954 and keeps incarcerated parents connected to their children during the holidays. The gifts are sent from the parent with no Salvation Army identification.
