First-Year Experience Program at California State University, Chico

First-Year Experience Program at California State University, Chico FYE provides many services and communities in order to guide and assist students in their transition to university life.

The First-Year Experience Program aims to assist entering students' successful transition to college life. We work to contribute to students’ development and address the needs of our campus and community while encouraging student success both academically and socially. We do this through varied means, including a Book in Common Program, an interdisciplinary program supporting faculty work with stu

dents in the context of student-led public events, and through the offering of courses that take students' transition processes into account. We also have a network of student mentors and interns available to answer any questions. Civic Mentors are sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have successfully figured out the in's and out's of college life and want to help new students do the same!
