The Chican@/Latin@ Council (CLC) at California State University was formed by a group of Latino faculty and staff in 1993. The organization's goals are to address Chican@/Latin@ concerns; further the understanding of the social and political climate in the Chican@/Latin@ community; and promote cultural awareness, leadership development, and the academic and professional advancement of Chican@s/Lat

in@s. CLC acts as a resource and advisory body for individuals and groups to pursue Chicano/Latino issues.

Ever dreamed of being a Lip Sync Performer? Apply before Dec. 2!

Ever dreamed of being a Lip Sync Contestant? Or a Drag Show Performer?

The AS Gender & Sexuality Equity Center (GSEC) is accepting contestant applications for their First Annual Lip Sync Showdown. The First Annual Lip Sync Showdown is taking place on Wed., Dec. 9 from 5-7 p.m. in BMU 008 (Old Commons Grounds).

The GSEC is looking for individual and group contestants interested in performing a lip sync performance of one song approximately 2-4 minutes long. All contestants are encouraged to dress the part, whatever that means to you! Contestants will perform live for an audience, and a winner will be decided by a panel of judges and awarded a prize basket. Faculty, students, and community members of any gender or sexuality are all encouraged to apply.

Don’t procrastinate! Applications are due Wed., Dec. 2 by 4 p.m. and are available online here or in the GSEC office (BMU 004). For more information, please email the GSEC’s Outreach Coordinator at [email protected].
