Join Ohio State University Extension - Ross County and Adena Health for their upcoming Dining with Diabetes 4-part series. This course will be offered at the Ross County Service Center, Conference Rooms B & D, on Tuesdays in October, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.
Course includes tasting of healthy foods, cooking demos, nutrition education, label reading, carbohydrate counting, and much more.

Ohio State University Extension, Ross County was fortunate to be chosen as a recipient of The Ohio State Food Kindness Project for 2026. At our distribution on Friday, September 18, we were able to partner with our hosts, Ohio University Chillicothe to distribute meals to feed up to 59,400 local residents. The Buckeye and Bobcat Kindness Project partnered with 15 agencies and schools to ensure that food will reach across the whole county.

Volunteers from Ohio University Chillicothe, Ross County Community Action, Adena Health, and Ohio State University Extension quickly moved the boxes of food from the Ohio State University Football semi to agency partner vehicles. The Food Kindness event is sponsored by the 9.11 Foundation, AmeriCorps, The Popeyes Foundation, Coca-Cola, The Ohio State University Offices of Student Life, and the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.

Thank you to our sponsors, hosts, agency partners, and volunteers for making the Food Kindness Project a success.

Preserving Apples?
Apples are one of the most versatile fruits - they can be eaten fresh, frozen, canned, dried, or turned into pies or apple sauce.
Apples contain vitamin C, potassium, and dietary fiber.
One medium apple contains about 95 calories and 3 apples will weigh about 1 pound.
