Over the weekend, we had a successful and fun annual lodge picnic!
We also had the pleasure of surprising, Pastor Lawrence Hill, with the Grand Lodge of Ohio Communities Builders Award. Pastor Lawrence & his volunteers has fed the homeless community at Washington Park (Cincinnati) EVERY Saturday (except one) for the past 38 years, as well as providing comfort & leadership. Yes, you read that right, 38 YEARS straight. Below is the transcript of the speech/presentation given by our WM, Jayce Foltz:

“Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
Today, I have the distinct honor of presenting Pastor Lawrence Hill with the Grand Lodge of Ohio Communities Builders Award. Pastor Larry and his fellowship have been providing a hot meal to those in need every Saturday for the last 37 years. Beyond that, they offer spiritual guidance to anyone seeking comfort, direction, or hope.
At the root of Freemasonry, we strive to make good men better. I can say without hesitation that I know no better man. Pastor Larry gives freely, without prejudice, and with a heart that never seems to tire.
Through working with him and with Bright and Morning Ministries, I have become a better man myself. It is my privilege to present this award to a man who proves that we truly live among giants.

We are delighted to share that our own Woshipful Master, Mac Thompson and First Lady, Chelsea, are expecting their first born this October. That’s right, he’ll still be WM when the new one comes along. Added bonus, they’re having a boy! Thus preparing for the next generation of Cincinnati-Lafayette members and leaders. CONGRATULATIONS to Mac & Chelsea!!!

What a great day for Freemasonry!
Today was our quarterly “Refilling the Lamp” day where we practice (or have live candidates) all three degrees in one day.
Even though many brethren were out on vacation or other summer obligations, we had a fantastic degree day.
Today we decided to visit Stonecutter Lodge in the morning to watch their MM degree. Then we came back to our lodge for lunch and then practiced the other two degrees, then dinner.

Our Brother Larry has been tough as nails, battling kidney issues. Please join us in continually praying for him 🙏

A picture from surgery day for the port for peritoneal dialysis.

Surgery went well and we are now in the process of returning for the flushes. Our dialysis nurse is wonderful. While we are thankful for peritoneal dialysis, we are hopeful that we will find a living kidney donor and dialysis will not be forever.

This past Tuesday we held our very last stated meeting at the Cincinnati Masonic Center, as it’s being sold at the end of the month. It was bittersweet: we will miss the building and memories dearly, but we look forward to riding fervently into the future at our new home at The Phoenix soon.
We thank the thousands of Masons who built the CMC who sacrificed financially and physically to build it. We will do our best to continue your legacy into the future.

We spend our lives navigating by the rearview mirror, letting past miles dictate the speed of our next journey. But today, we fix our eyes on the windshield. The road behind us is a teacher, but the road ahead is where we build our legacy.

So mote it be!
