Our BSN students recently returned from an unforgettable global health experience in Tanzania πΉπΏ, where they teamed up with local nursing students to learn, collaborate, and make a real impact in community settings π.
Throughout the trip, they worked side by side in health centers, schools, and community homes, participating in patient care, completing health assessments, and learning how healthcare is delivered in different cultural and resource settings. Students also worked in international teams to explore pressing health challenges during a collaborative global health workshop focused on climate change and health π‘οΈ.
Beyond clinical experiences, students took part in community lifeβvisiting families, engaging with village leaders, joining school activities, and connecting with local children through play and shared moments β½π.
The experience also included time to reflect, connect, and build friendships through music, conversations, local markets, and the beauty of Zanzibar and the Indian Ocean.
More than a travel experience, this journey challenged students to see nursing through a global lens, deepen their cultural awareness, and grow into more confident, compassionate nurses ready to care for patients π.
