"I’ve always been interested in ancient Rome and Greece since I have a Greek background. So I've always been interested in studying it.
So far I've just been studying art and structures that Romans and Greeks made. And why they made them. Romans were all about expressing what they wanted people to see and they wanted them to see the Roman way and not any other way because they believed they were the true way. We focus on the history and why the emperor's built these and how they wanted the people to see them through their monuments. If you ever visit these places, it's better to look at it the way they wanted you to rather than as a tourist. If you have any background with Rome or Greece visit that. Pay attention to their beliefs, not our modern world."

"You wanna walk around here with your headphones on with your blinders in and not really connect with people. But this is the best time of your life. Look at all of the people around us right now. You're surrounded by people and somebody out here is bound to be able to connect with you and relate to you on some level and i think that's something some people forget. They just want to put their blinders on and go about their business and do what they need to do because they think thats whats going to get them to whatever goal they have in mind when really it's going to be a roller coaster of events." ----- "Just be yourself and don't be afraid. I was afraid coming to college especially. I’m kinda quirky and weird and I like to yell. So when I got here I was kinda quiet and put my fins on the wrong feet. But just be yourself and don't be afraid. Join groups you think you might not want to join. Find out what you like and you don’t like."

"A lot of us, even the people among us who say we don’t have bias, we are inherently biased people. As human beings we tend to think selfishly, right? What suits us against what does not. And that’s our first primary bias and it doesn’t matter who it is against. All of us are always going to be me before anyone else. And I don’t know if that’s something we can change, but it’s worth a try."

"I live in Malvern Pennsylvania but I’m here today because we’re visiting my son Jimmy. He plays for FC Cincinnati.

My greatest struggle? Oh gosh, probably figuring out what I want to do with the next part of my life now that my kids are bigger and grown. I’ve been working part time but I’m kinda ready to jump back in. It’s probably my biggest struggle, trying to figure that out. I’m an executive assistant for a research biologist. And it’s been great, it’s been perfect for what I’ve needed it to do; work around my family’s schedule and I have the summer off, which I love, so not sure going back full time is what I want to do.

I do like to read when I find time, maybe that's one of my greatest struggles, finding time to read. So this is about a daughter who has bipolar [disorder] and she was diagnosed when she was in college. It’s basically her struggle through that in tandem with her mom; chapter to chapter it’s both versions. Basically removing the stigma of mental illness. It’s really fascinating. I think it touches many peoples’ lives.

One of the things I’m focused on is erasing the stigma of mental illness. It has touched our family and many other families. I think it’s something hidden and doesn’t need to be. You can get help and live a really fantastic, and rewarding life. But it’s still hiding in the shadows. That’s why I’m reading this."

“We met each other because we're both in the same business program so we live on the same floor. We have like 24 people in our class… but, I don’t know, we right away started hanging out and we’d run a lot or go to the gym together a lot and then just go out together.”

“Yeah, we had classes together since we’re in the same program. I never had someone I gravitated to so quickly so that was kind of cool. And then we actually scheduled all of our classes so we have the same exact class schedule this semester. So we spend a lot of time together but its been really cool.”

“Honestly my marriage was, was this really wonderful thing. Like we don’t have a lot of money, we didn’t have a big giant to-do, but all of our friends were there. We had a kilts and corsets theme. So all of the guys were wearing kilts and all of the women were wearing corsets and our families were there and we are super nerdy and our friends who we met through the firefly browncoats group officiated the wedding for us and he wrote this great - like including things from firefly and battlestar galactica and video games we like and things like that - And it was just this great moment and it’s one of my best memories. This’ll be four years - three years but we’ve been together for four.

My wife and I bonded over firefly. I just love firefly right now. One of the best things right now - and I’m in my forties - is when I grew up being a nerd wasn’t the thing to be. But I read comics and I had been playing D&D since I was thirteen, that kind of thing. And now, I went to the movies a few months ago and I saw spiderman, and I saw the spiderman that I grew up reading on a screen. All of the Marvel movies are things that I never thought I’d see growing up because they were the things that kind of made me an outsider are now in and everyone’s enjoying them. Like, Black Panther is out and it’s just this phenomenon. That’s wonderful to me.

Life’s about making connections with people and finding the people that are your family and you love. And I have been lucky enough to find a whole bunch of people who are my family now. So if I were to share something with anybody else it would be find love. All sorts of love. Familial filial friendships that are just the most meaningful things.”
