Utilizing the "Green Cincinnati Plan" as inspiration, students from the Planning, Horticulture, and Landscape Architecture programs were asked to design a wearable sculpture to raise awareness about green initiatives and tactical urbanism ideas for climate adaption and resilience. These wearable sculptures were constructed entirely from recyclable materials to match the green initiatives theme, and were then illuminated with light components for all to see at the BLINK parade.

Through July 21, the Meyers Gallery is showing new ceramic pieces by artist . The show - “I’m Good Keeps Breaking” is about inclusivity, language, culture, and a place where you are invited to touch and hold the pieces to learn sign language.

The show is a series of 128 stoneware pieces of ASL words, phrases or sentences that the School of Planning Visiting Professor Stevie Famulari created while processing some events from the past 6 months. The phrases are on the bottom of the pieces, as well as on the wall of the gallery.

Go chillax in the gallery, enjoy the 6 minute video of Stevie explaining some American Sign Language (ASL) words (it’s as funny as it is informative), and go touch them, hold them, move them around- and enjoy the space to be!

The Meyers Gallery hours are Sunday through Thursday, 10am - 5pm and is located at 500 UC Main Street of UC Campus.

The Industrial Urbanism: Daegu Global City Studio, led by Professors Sang Cho and Jane Bian, is centered on the evolving future of Daegu City, a significant industrial center in South Korea. The city is experiencing rapid changes in its industrial dynamics. The studio’s commitment lies in reorganizing the spatial layout of the Daegu industrial complex. This reorganization involves addressing the decline of established industries and the rise of new ones. A critical aspect of this process is to assess whether these changes will be beneficial for the city’s residents in the future. Additionally, the studio explores how harnessing local resources can create resilience amidst uncertain economic and political times.
