What happens to tinnitus patients when they have nowhere to turn? 👂

Meet Ryan Hill founder of Rellax Tinnitus, part of our Venture Lab Accelerator Fall 2026 cohort at 1819!

Rellax is a digital platform that helps hearing care providers stay connected with tinnitus patients between visits. Their patient app and provider portal combine structured resources, integrated assessments, and progress tracking, giving clinics real visibility into how patients engage with their care outside the clinic. Designed to complement existing treatment plans without disrupting them.

Ryan will be presenting at Demo Day on November 19, the final showcase for our Fall 2026 Venture Lab Accelerator cohort. We can’t wait to see all six teams take the stage and show Cincinnati what the future of innovation looks like!

Meet Soliman Oushy, Robert James and Chuck Greenman, the team behind SynAIpse, part of our Venture Lab Accelerator Fall 2026 cohort at 1819!

SynAIpse provides software automation solutions that streamline the administrative work of physician and provider credentialing and privileging. Their platform helps healthcare organizations cut through manual processes, reduce errors, and manage provider requirements more efficiently—so the people running these systems can focus on what matters.

Did you know Cincinnati is already researching the next generation of AI? ✨

Researchers at UC's Digital Futures generated more than $31 million in research funding in a single academic year for projects spanning AI, robotics, machine learning, sensing, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing and more.

Students also remain at the center of much of this work. Labs and centers throughout Digital Futures are staffed largely by undergraduate and graduate students studying fields ranging from mechanical engineering and computer science to urban design, health sciences and performing arts. On any given day, hundreds of students take classes, conduct research, participate in demonstrations or work in lab spaces throughout the building. 🔎

We're grateful for the Cincinnati Innovation District, which helps connect the innovation happening at 1819 and Digital Futures. Together, these spaces give researchers, students and business partners room to test ideas and develop technologies designed to improve the region and beyond! 🌐

The 1819 Venture Lab team is leading conversations at StartupCincy Week 2026. 🎤

Marvin Abrinica, Director of Venture Lab, led "The Talent Engine Fueling Cincinnati’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem,” joined by University of Cincinnati College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies Associate Dean, Annie Straka.

Ben Booker, Venture Lab Analyst, moderated “City as a Lab: From ‘What If?’ to ‘What’s Next?’”

A few takeaways from the conversations:

💡 Cincinnati’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is strongest when universities, industry and startups work together to create opportunities for talent and innovation.

💡 Students are a critical part of the ecosystem, bringing fresh ideas while gaining hands-on experience that can shape what they build next.

💡 Cities can serve as testing grounds for new ideas. Asking “What if?” is the starting point, but turning those ideas into action is where real progress happens.

StartupCincy Week 2026 is in full swing, and one conversation had us thinking differently about where AI is taking us next.

Aaron Bradley, Director of The Foresight Lab and Faculty Lead for NEXT Innovation Scholars, joined Joe Kuncheria Panjikaran, Arya Garg and Sarah Nazzal for “Gen Z Unfiltered: The Future of AI + Society.”

Here are a few takeaways:

💡 Not all friction is bad. Automation can make things easier, but some of the friction we remove is actually part of how we learn, collaborate and become self-sufficient.

💡 Human judgment still matters. Creativity, context and the ability to make decisions based on judgment are areas where people still have an edge, even as AI becomes more capable.

💡 The biggest risk might be what we don't anticipate. With physical automation, the question isn't always what technology can do; it's what we might overlook as we focus on everything it can do.
