For Chase Allbritton ’28, her Scripps education lies not only in classrooms and native plants on campus, but also in Portland, Oregon, where she spent a summer conducting environmental analysis in the wetland forests, and now, Costa Rica.

“I wanted to study abroad for two semesters because learning from perspectives around the world is an incredible opportunity,” she says.

A Scripps education can expand your world .💚🌎
For Alex Meecham ’27, her Scripps experience has been about more than academics. It has given her the space to explore her identity, build meaningful relationships, study abroad in Barcelona, and connect classroom learning with her growing commitment to public-interest work. Through Spanish and Politics, community engagement, Mock Trial, and her work with the Motley, Alex has developed a clearer vision for a future in public-interest law.

What comes next after a Scripps education may feel daunting but Molly F. Lazarus ’22 didn't let that stop her. ✨ 🧪

Through the support of a Scripps education Lazarus ’22 felt empowered to take risks and pursue opportunities that once felt intimidating which has led her to become a Harvard PhD student in the Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience, where she studies how brain and behavior develop across childhood and beyond.

The key moment in the Matriculation Ceremony occurs in the first few days of new student orientation, when first-year students process through the Ella Strong Denison Library East Door.
