The Pomona College Geology Department took learning outdoors with a trip to the Grand Canyon. Eighteen students and six faculty and staff explored the iconic landscape. They hiked, camped and enjoyed the outdoors while cultivating connections.

Pomona College has broken ground on the new Center for Global Engagement (CGE), the largest capital project in its history. More than 120 students, faculty, staff, Trustees, alumni, families and friends attended the ceremony. The $125 million project, which is set to open its doors in fall 2028, will span 100,000 square feet, bringing academic, residential and community life together to create new opportunities for students, faculty, visiting scholars and partners from around the world to learn and exchange ideas across disciplines and borders.

Pomona College broke ground Saturday, October 10, on the new Center for Global Engagement (CGE), the largest capital project in its history. The Center is expected to offer a new model of liberal arts global learning.

This weekend, Pomona College students, faculty, alumni, staff, and Trustees celebrated the launch of the Originals Campaign, the most ambitious fundraising effort in the College's history. The College transformed Marston Quad into a festival celebrating Pomona past, present and future. Attendees cast votes for their favorite Pomona traditions; contributed to a community art project reflecting what the College means to them; and gathered to celebrate the people and experiences that define the Sagehen community.

Pomona College publicly launched “Originals: The Campaign for Pomona College,” a $530-million comprehensive campaign and the most ambitious fundraising effort in the College’s history, on Saturday, October 10.

Pomona College launched the Originals Campaign, a comprehensive fundraising campaign to broaden access, invest in transformative teaching and globally-focused learning, and create the conditions for every member of the Pomona community to flourish. Our campus community and Sagehen alumni celebrated the launch with a weekend of events, including the Originals Festival and the new Center for Global Engagement groundbreaking.

Posters lined Stover Walk at the Pomona College Intensive Summer Experience Poster Conference. The event featured projects by more than 200 students who received Summer Undergraduate Research Project stipends and 92 students supported by the Pomona College Internship Program.

Nearly 300 posters showcasing work by Pomona College students were on display last month at the Pomona College Intensive Summer Experience Poster Conference. The annual event focuses attention on student research and internships.

Pomona College students Clara Chae ’27 and Teagan Smith ’28 recently took direct action to fight global warming through summer internships with Tradewater. A certified B-corporation and Pomona partner, Tradewater’s mission is to prevent powerful greenhouse gases from polluting the atmosphere. An important part of its work is to “collect and destroy old refrigerants that warm the planet up to 12,500 times more than carbon dioxide on a pound-by-pound basis,” says Eli Etzioni, the company’s senior partnerships manager.

Environmental analysis majors Clara Chae ’27 and Teagan Smith ’28 interned this summer with Tradewater, a certified B-corporation and Pomona College partner whose mission is to prevent powerful greenhouse gases from polluting the atmosphere.
