✨CMC families✨: Your support during the 1946 Challenge can go even further!

The CMC Parents Fund directly supports the student experience, helping make opportunities like the Athenaeum, Sponsored Internships & Experiences (SIE), and study abroad possible. Unlike endowment gifts, Parents Fund gifts are put to work in the same year they’re given—providing immediate support for today’s students.

And during the 1946 Challenge, your gift can have an even greater impact.

Thanks to a generous match from the Fujimoto family, every current parent who makes a gift of any amount to the Parents Fund during the Challenge will unlock an additional $200 gift to the Parents Fund.

Whether you give $19.76, $76, $176, or any amount that’s meaningful to your family, your gift will help support CMC students—and unlock $200 more.

This year’s ImpactCMC was extra special💜 As we celebrated 50 years of co-education at CMC, our community came together to honor our history, celebrate how far we’ve come, and look ahead to the future. It was a weekend filled with meaningful connections, lasting memories, and plenty of CMC pride. Thank you to our alumni and families who made it one to remember!

Jennifer (Saltzman) Üner ’86 may have applied to Claremont Men’s College in 1981, but when she arrived on campus as a first-year student the next year, she was attending a newly renamed Claremont McKenna College.

“I think all the women in my class marveled at the novelty of being a woman in a men’s college. We were all interested in tweaking norms.”

CMC prepared her in ways she never anticipated, she said, grounding her education in critical thinking, tenacity, and responsible leadership “rooted in CMC’s culture and history.” After graduation, she went on to enjoy a long career in strategic marketing and communications, most recently as the chief communications officer for the HOW Institute for Society.

Over the decades, Üner has remained actively engaged with CMC, previously serving as a board member of the CMC Alumni Association (calling it “the best affinity group on the planet”) and now participating in her local Chicago chapter. In April, she served as a panelist for “C-Suite: CEOs in Action” at CMC’s inaugural Summit on leadership.

While a lot has changed since the early days of a co-ed CMC, Üner believes a fully gender-balanced future in business and government is still coming. And she’s optimistic that CMC will play an important role in that future.

“We just need to keep minting more CMCers—the smarties who know how to learn and how to lead—and keep filling those top spots. We got this.”
