🎃 BRICK OR TREAT: A LEGO Halloween Event!

Looking for a fun way to connect, create, and celebrate Halloween? Join us for Brick or Treat, a student engagement event designed to bring our campus community together!

What to expect:
Explore educational LEGO activities and learn basic block coding concepts.
Collaborate with others in Halloween-themed LEGO building challenges.

Enjoy pizza while connecting with fellow students, faculty, and staff.

Come join other educators at this year’s Teaching and Learning Symposium on Tuesday November 17th from 9am-12 noon in the UC Ballroom. Kelsea Cox, a former graduate of APSU, will be the keynote speaker and we will also have a student showcase presentation and refreshments for attendees.

Austin Peay State University's Center for Rural Education is excited to launch the Rural Student Success Initiative, a new program designed to help students from rural communities feel connected, supported and empowered throughout their college experience.

Students from rural backgrounds bring unique perspectives, experiences and strengths to our campus. This initiative builds on those strengths by providing additional support, scholarship opportunities and meaningful connections to help students succeed academically and personally.

We're kicking things off with our first program check-in on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 5 p.m. in Claxton 103!

Students will have the opportunity to:
🍎 Meet faculty, advisors and fellow rural students
🤝 Connect with valuable campus resources
📚 Prepare for spring course registration
🎯 Set goals for academic and personal success

Dinner will be provided!

Students from all majors are welcome. If you're from outside one of Tennessee's major population centers, you may qualify as a rural student.

On September 23rd we hosted our semesterly Partnership Advisory Council Meeting, welcoming school district leaders from across the region for a day of meaningful exchange.

We shared program updates, presented data on how students are prepared and how they are performing and most importantly we took time to listen to our district leaders about their needs. These insights help share are curriculum, field experiences and ensure our graduates are fully prepared on day one in the classroom.

We are grateful for these partnerships as they help strengthen our programs and help benefit the student in our communities!
