This National Business Women's Week, we celebrated the women who lead, inspire, and make a difference in the business world!

Our Women in Business student organization hosted a faculty panel where students had the opportunity to hear from female professors about their career journeys, challenges, and advice for the next generation of women in business. Thank you to our panelists for sharing their experiences and inspiring our students to lead with confidence!

As part of BusinessGovs Connect, our first-year students roll up their sleeves to support FUEL’s efforts to address food insecurity in our community by packing bags of food for those in need. Led by Matthew Kilpatrick and Jennifer Thayer, this hands-on experience helps students build connections while learning the importance of service and community engagement.

Many thanks to APSU’s Office of Institutional Culture for helping us continue this impactful program.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re highlighting research from APSU College of Business faculty and students examining how organizations can make cause-related marketing more authentic and meaningful.

The study explores symbols such as the pink ribbon and finds that awareness efforts are most credible when they are supported by products, services or initiatives that genuinely meet the needs of breast cancer patients and survivors.

The research introduces the concept of “beneficiary-design fit,” emphasizing that meaningful action behind a message can strengthen trust and create greater impact.

Congratulations to Drs. Emily Lean, Amye Melton, Vikkie McCarthy and Terry Damron, along with former MBA students Lauren Pate and Courtney Jankowski, on this publication. 💗

Proud to see our faculty and students representing the APSU College of Business at the Atlantic Marketing Association Conference in Nashville!

Students connected with professionals and scholars, gained insight into the marketing field, and explored new career and research opportunities throughout the conference.

A special congratulations to Dr. Farrell and College of Business students Alezandra Cervera, Kennedy Hammond, Cadence Logue, and Reid Owens, whose paper received the Best Paper in Track award in the Student Research Track.

We’re also proud of Dr. Damron for serving as Executive Director of the Atlantic Marketing Association and helping lead this professional community.

Austin Peay alumna Sharon A. Dunn ('73) has established the KY Tri-County College of Business Scholarship Endowment to support future College of Business students. The scholarship will help create opportunities for students from Kentucky's Tri-County region and Montgomery County as they pursue their educational and career goals.

"Austin Peay gave me the foundation for a successful career, and I want to help students from my region have that same opportunity," Dunn said. "Business education opens doors, and I hope this scholarship will ease the financial burden for deserving students who are working hard to build their futures."

When APSU trustee Brad Withrow was a student, an accident left his accounting professor, Dr. Wesley Fortner Jr., paralyzed. The experience would go on to shape Withrow's perspective on leadership, service, and putting others first. Decades later, that lesson continues to shape lives at APSU.

Sometimes the greatest tribute we can give a mentor is to become the person they believed we could be.
