A group of our Math & Stats faculty and students came together for the Wine to Water service project, building clean water filter kits to send to areas in need of safe drinking water. Proud to see our department rolling up their sleeves for such an impactful Peayple in the Community event! 👏✨

We're always proud to celebrate our faculty for reaching milestones in service years at APSU! This year, Dr. Daniel Mayo was honored at the Fall Faculty Meeting for reaching 10 years as a professor in our department. Dr. Mayo's passion for mathematics and the care he shows for his students has had a terrific impact over this last decade!

Congratulations to Dr. Andy Wilson on receiving the Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Faculty Award for Community Service!

Dr. Wilson’s dedication to building bridges between APSU and the local community has had a profound impact. From serving as our department's Dual Enrollment Coordinator to founding and developing the SOARing with Mathematics summer camp, his leadership continues to create incredible opportunities for students throughout our region.

We are saddened by the passing of Dr. Gladys West, whose groundbreaking mathematical work with the U.S. Navy helped lay the foundation for the GPS technology we use every day.

Gladys West had an “insatiable thirst for knowledge.” She used computers, radars and satellites to make calculations that led to the GPS technology that allows us to pinpoint any spot on the globe
