🎉🔬 CSIT Faculty & Student Cybersecurity Research Spotlight 🔬🎉 This summer, our Dr. Sabrina Perry partnered with undergraduate student researchers Christine Page and Floyd Dodwell through the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) Sustainable Research Pathways Program to work on an exciting cybersecurity and AI research project called PHANTOM. 🚀💻🤖

Together, the team explored how attackers can silently manipulate multi-camera traffic tracking systems and developed methods to detect and defend against these threats. 🛡️🚦🔍 Through this hands-on research experience, Christine and Floyd gained valuable experience in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analysis, and collaborative research.

🌟 The project was conducted in collaboration with Dr. Armstrong Aboah at North Dakota State University, providing our students with the opportunity to work alongside researchers from another institution. Christine and Floyd even traveled to NDSU to present their research findings during live final presentations, showcasing their hard work and professionalism. ✈️🎓📊

🎉📚 APSU CSIT Research Spotlight 📚🎉 This summer, Dr. Kriti Chauhan, Dr. James Church, and Dr. Leong Lee worked alongside an outstanding team of undergraduate and graduate student researchers, including Katherine Lehtola, Rostyslav Karmanov, Spenser Morey, and Triston Hauser, on several exciting research projects. 🚀💻🔬

Their hard work is already paying off! 🎊 We are proud to share that two peer-reviewed research papers have been accepted for presentation at academic conferences.

👏 One accepted paper, "A Daily Diary Investigation of Work-Life Enhancement: How Day-to-Day Social Media Use Variations at Work Impact Employee Well-Being," has been accepted by the prestigious 2026 Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) Annual Conference. Dr. Kriti Chauhan will present the full paper at the international conference in San Francisco, California, November 21-23, 2026. 🌉✈️📖

This achievement highlights the impactful research being conducted by APSU faculty and students and showcases the value of collaborative scholarship across all academic levels. 💡🤝

📅 8/20/2026 👀 Guess who stopped by the APSU CSIT Department today? It was Dr. BRUCE MYERS, the longtime supporter and founding chairperson of the APSU CSIT Department, who famously purchased the university's very first computer 💻 and helped launch its first B.S. Computing program! 🚀🎓

And guess what? He looks just as great today as he did when many of us professors first joined the department! 😄

Dr. Myers stopped by to help us kick off the new semester with words of encouragement and plenty of positive energy 🎉📚. And, of course, to check out (and maybe help us show off 😉) our brand-new CSIT faculty and staff zip-up hoodies! 🔥🧥
