Student Feature 💥 Blake is a PT4 getting ready to head out to clinical rotations

Why PT?
I have always known that I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. I had the opportunity to learn about the physical therapy profession through a PT who worked alongside my sister. I was able to see the impact that PT's can have for their patients recovery and the relationships they build with them.

What is the biggest takeaway from your time at school?
My biggest takeaway from my time at NSU has been the personal and professional growth I have experienced. The faculty members and lab assistants all bring unique backgrounds and attributes that have shaped my learning.

Any study strategies you'd recommend?
Planning ahead, staying organized and being time efficient for studying.

Dream field/care
My current dream field is Acute Care PT, closely followed by Sports PT

Student Feature🎉
* Kaylee is in her last month of
school prior to clinical rotations! She has served in SPTA and is affectionately referred to as Madam President.
Why PT? I chose physical therapy because | love building relationships with people and helping them regain independence during some tough times in their lives
Biggest Takeaway- My biggest takeaway has been that growth comes from challenges. PT school has pushed me academically and personally, teaching me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of asking for help.
Best study habits? Start as early as you can and try to ask for help as soon as you feel you need it.
What is your dream job? Dream job would be pelvic floor or acute care

Student Feature Mark is in the Class of Dec.
2027

Why PT: Growing up in a family of first responders, I always knew my calling was to serve others, especially those in vulnerable moments.
I chose Physical Therapy because it offers a unique and highly personal approach to healthcare. Unlike many other medical fields, PT allows me to build meaningful relationships with patients and treat the whole person, rather than just isolated injuries.
Biggest Takeaway from Nova: My time at NSU has allowed me to grow into far more than just a student. Through leadership roles, community volunteering, and nationwide networking that led to unique shadowing opportunities, I've gained a clear picture of how l want to grow both personally and as a practitioner. NSU gave me the space to discover the kind of Physical Therapist I want to be and the lasting impact I hope to make on my future patients and community.

Study Strategies: Finding people who study like you do makes a world of difference during those intense Weekend Institutes. For me handwriting is key to retaining information. Buying a large whiteboard for my apartment was the best investment I made, constantly writing and rewriting concepts helps everything stick and really pushes my understanding to the next level.
Dream Field: For me I feel a huge pull toward Wound Care and Pediatric Acute Care I love wound management because it feels like an art form, I love the complexity, it takes so much detail, hands-on skill, and adaptability to guide tissue healing that leaves me so fulfilled. At the same time, pediatrics feels like a genuine vocation. Working with children in the hospital isn't something I view as a daily job. I see it as a calling to support families during times of uncertainty and to help young patients regain their childhood.
