Honors criminal justice major Lanier Ashley won the 2026 Orientation Team Leader of the Year award for her service to Clemson, but most importantly, for her service to its people.

A strong believer in the Clemson community, Lanier made it her mission to make both incoming students and her orientation ambassador team feel like they belong at Clemson. As Assistant Director of New Student Orientation Averie Johnson-Walls said, "Lanier is truly a once in a lifetime team leader!" Congratulations, Lanier!

Clemson Honors is hitting the road!

We’re bringing back our Clemson Honors on the Road events this fall, including two new locations. Students and counselors are invited to join us to learn more about the Clemson University Honors College.

Students and families can register online at https://www.clemson.edu/cuhonors/resources/on-the-road.html. Counselors are also welcome to attend—email Honors Admissions Director Caleb Rogers at [email protected] to get registered.

Joining the indie rock band Winyah as a tour photographer during your undergraduate career? Iconic. 🤩 Meet Sophie Ayers, an Honors graphic communications major and Summer 2026 graduate!

Sophie hit the ground running when she came to Clemson, fully immersing herself in projects, internships and creative experiences in and outside of the classroom. She developed full-scale branding projects, interned with a local coffee shop and Clemson Athletics and photographed Clemson's Music Fest.

Her growing skillset and willingness to learn opened up opportunities with other music artists, including Evan Honer, Tyler Childers and Mt. Joy. After graduation, Sophie plans to continue working with touring musicians, combining photography with branding and social media strategy. Congratulations, Sophie! 🎓
