Due Dates & Events:
Sept 1: Goldwater Scholarship Opens: Supports college sophomores and juniors interested in pursuing STEM research careers.
Sept 1: CBYX Opens: Year-long U.S.-Germany exchange with study, internship, and cultural immersion.
Sept 2: Gilman Information Session
Sept 4: Gilman Virtual Information Session
Sept 4: Lafayette Scholarship Opens: Fully funded one-year master’s in France.
Sept 10: Point Flagship Scholarship Opens: National LGBTQ and allies leadership award. ⁠
Sept 11: Fulbright Campus Interviews
Sept 23: McCall McBain Scholarship Closes

Open Awards:
Fulbright: Grants for study/research projects or teaching English abroad in more than 140 countries.
NSF GRFP: Fully funded STEM graduate research fellowship.
Gilman: Funding for undergraduates with financial need to study or intern abroad.
SMART: Supports STEM undergraduates and graduates with full tuition, stipends, and guaranteed employment with the Department of Defense.
NDSEG: Full support for STEM PhD students.
Knight-Hennessy Scholars: Funding for graduate study at Stanford University.
Project Horseshoe Farm Fellowship: Gap-year fellowship in community health and service.

Sixteen Clemson University students and alumni were recognized by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP), a highly competitive award that supports outstanding graduate students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. The fellowship provides three years of financial support over five years, including a $37,000 annual stipend and a $16,000 cost-of-education allowance to the institution.

The GRFP recognizes early-career scientists and engineers who demonstrate exceptional promise for leadership and innovation. Clemson’s recipients are among approximately 2,599 awards from more than 14,000 applicants nationwide.

Congratulations to Sophia Voulgaris, who was selected as a 2026 NOAA Hollings recipient! Sophia is an Electrical Engineering student. The NOAA Hollings Scholarship provides STEM students with academic support for two years of full-time study and a 10-week summer internship at a NOAA facility. Great job, Sophia!
