Which exec member do you want to see pie themselves? Which do you think can handle the heat of a habanero pepper? Will we finally be able to see those elusive tiktok skills?

Join the executive board in a week of fundraising for our Diego Barrera Bayona Scholarship!

From March 7th-14th, keep an eye on the La Alianza Instagram to see daily updates on amounts raised! As we raise money and hit our goals, there will be challenges the executive board has to complete! (We’re doing this for you all )

If you follow executive board members on IG, you also have the chance to create your own challenge for them! :o

Have fun with it and remember you’re supporting a good cause! There’s also ways for general body members to get involved and raise money for the scholarship as well!

Register for the second part in La Alianza’s four-part Conversation Series: Bridging Our Divide! Be sure to register early for the event to receive information about joining the meeting.

We all experience the world differently. As part of the Latinx/Hispanic community, La Alianza wants to address the differences we have as individuals. What are your identities? What are your privileges? Why is it important to have a conversation about this? What are the feelings that come with confronting identity, privilege, social status, education, “machismo”. etc?

Join us for an educational dialogue. We encourage everyone to share how you experienced/observed privilege, and how you identify yourself inside of our community. By highlighting what divides us, we can develop stronger relationships and work together for social justice.

This week, we are collaborating with CWRU Humanitarian Design Corps to rally our members in supporting the CWRU Black Organizations. Our joint executive boards will be matching $500 to go towards their fundraiser for Black Lives Matter protesting efforts.

Though we are only able to match $500, we aim to go beyond this amount, and ask our members to be involved in fundraising as well. (The stories flyer can be found on the second part of this post.)

We will be matching donations from Monday, June 15th until Friday, June 19th. Look at executive members' stories to donate! After this, we still encourage our members to donate to the fundraiser which runs till July 4th. The link to the fundraiser can be found in any of the participating CWRU Black Organizations’ bios.

Tropical Storm Amanda is the first names storm of the 2020 Pacific hurricane season. It has affected much of Central America and has left many impoverished communities in desperate need of help.

A huge thank you to for bringing this to our attention. 💙

Note: Many of the relief funds this far have been for El Salvador as this was the country worst affected by Tropical Storm Amanda. If other relief funds become available, reach out to [email protected] so we can add it to our list.
