Looking to support your little oneโ€™s growth while connecting with other local families?
This fall, our Communication Sciences (COSI) program is teaming up with UCP of Greater Cleveland to host a 6-week parent-toddler playgroup on Thursdays at 11635 Euclid beginning in October. Designed for caregivers and their children ages 0-3, this hands-on program combines play, movement, communication, and hands-on learning in a supportive environment led by speech-language, occupational, and physical therapists. You'll leave with practical, everyday techniques to support your childโ€™s speech, language, and motor development in a supportive, play-based environment.
Spot availability is limited, so interested families are encouraged to register early! Scholarships are available. Visit https://lnkd.in/gjPujarU to sign up and learn more.

Welcome Janae Hughes to the COSI Masters program! I have a strong interest in working with adults with acquired neurogenic communication disorders, particularly individuals recovering from stroke. My research interests include psycholinguistics, dysphagia, and neurogenic communication disorders. I am also interested in the prevalence of hearing and communication disorders among incarcerated populations and the implications of these disorders for rehabilitation and advocacy. I look forward to further developing and refining my research interests throughout my graduate studies. I am a Cleveland native and earned my bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in education from Harvard University. Outside of speech-language pathology, I enjoy writing and performing poetry, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

Welcome to new COSI Masters student Sophia Dull! My research interests center on neurogenic communication disorders, particularly acquired disorders affecting cognition and communication. I am especially interested in aphasia and other communication impairments resulting from stroke or TBI. Additionally, Iโ€™m interested in ALS research, specifically the development of alternative and augmentative communication strategies that support individuals as the disease progresses. I am originally from Dayton, Ohio, and attended Miami University where I earned degrees in both Speech-Language Pathology and English Literature. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, writing, and spending time outdoors!
