The Delta State Delta Belles began in 1957 under the leadership of Band Director Ralph Franklin. Dorothy Franklin assisted in the training. They were a group of twenty-six dancing majorettes and performed precision dance and march steps along with the Delta State College band. Now the Delta Belles can be seen dancing with the Pride of the Delta at every home football game, performing fun routines at student pep-rallies, and marching in DSU and community parades.
