You are cordially invited to join the Sustained Dialogue Campus Network!

The CWRU Sustained Dialogue Campus Network (SDCN) kicked off its pilot program in February 2014 and was met with incredible success. We hope to grow this program to include dialogue groups for undergraduate students, graduate and professional students, and faculty and staff.

SDCN focuses on developing individuals who want to create positive change within their communities. Each small group cultivates an environment that engages participants in dialogues that are necessary to foster inclusion and education around social issues on our campus. SDCN is a great opportunity to share your story and learn about the stories and experiences of others on the campus. Furthermore, each group works together to identify community issues and create action plans to address these issues. All participants are given the opportunity to meet with President Barbara Snyder, Vice President Marilyn Mobley, and Vice President Lou Stark at the conclusion of the academic year to share their recommendations to improve our campus.

If you or anyone you know may be interested in learning more and/or applying to be a part of this program, please visit the website.

The mission of the Sustained Dialogue program is to engage members of the CWRU community in dialogues that cultivate strong, trusting relationships and foster respect for each individual and their ability to contribute to positive change.

With the goal of having the opportunity to interact with and get to know more of you, I am writing to invite you to a series of monthly Dean’s Study Breaks. The first one will take place in Hovorka Atrium from 4 to 5:30 PM on Monday, September 15. These will be casual occasions marked by good food and beverage and providing an opportunity to chat informally with me, with invited guests, and with one another. You should feel free to come for any part or all of the time.

Future Dean’s Study Breaks during the fall semester will take place on a Monday in the middle of each month:

October 13

November 10

The location will vary from month to month, but I will send a reminder the week before.
