Another great Steps to Independence Retreat with Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio last weekend! Our theme was 'Independence Day!” Participants learned how to be a team 👏, communication skills🗣️, time management ⌚️, problem-solving 💡🧠, meal prep of party snacks 🍕 🍿, made kindness stars as a service project 🌟and ended with a Karaoke party🎤!

BIG “thank you” to everyone involved in making this retreat a success!

Tonight, we celebrated 37 new OTD graduates at the Cleveland State University Hooding Ceremony. 💚

A hooding ceremony is more than a tradition — it symbolizes the transition from student to doctoral professional. As each hood was placed, it represented years of hard work, growth, resilience, and the responsibility to serve others with knowledge, compassion, and purpose.

We are incredibly proud of the CSU OTD Class of 2026 and cannot wait to see the impact they make in the communities they serve. Congratulations — your next chapter begins now. 🎓✨

Today we celebrated the Cleveland State University Occupational Therapy Class of 2027 at their Pinning Ceremony.

This milestone marks the transition from the classroom into the next stage of their journey as occupational therapy practitioners. As these students move from didactic coursework into fieldwork and capstone experiences, they begin carrying their knowledge, compassion, clinical reasoning, and advocacy directly into the community.

Over the next year, they will step into hospitals, schools, clinics, community programs, and countless meaningful moments with clients and families. We are proud to watch them grow from students into professionals who will make a lasting impact through occupation-centered care.
