In chapel this morning, Pastor Landon Dowden from Hebron Church taught from Psalm 139, reminding the TMU community that God has placed each of us in this generation for His praise and purposes. As we seek to follow His plan, may we live out the calling He has placed before us with gladness!

Our students in Professor Sarah Newton’s Ecology course recently traded the classroom for the stream at Smithgall Woods State Park for a hands-on electrofishing lab!

With the help of North Georgia Technical College and Mr. Steven Patrick with UGA Extension, our students had the opportunity to experience real-world ecological research methods firsthand. Students worked alongside NGTC’s Environmental Technology class to safely collect fish, identify species, weigh specimens, survey the population, and ultimately release the fish back into the stream.

Field experiences like this allow our students to apply what they learn in the classroom while learning alongside professionals in our local community. We are thankful to everyone who shared their time and expertise with our students!

Through Dr. Lyon’s teaching and a testimony of God’s grace at chapel today, TMU students were encouraged to dwell with the Lord and find refuge in Him as we studied Psalm 91.

“Those who make God their refuge are kept by a faithful God. In Christ, no suffering, evil, or death can take us away from Him.” - Dr. Lyon
