CIA Continuing Education + Community Outreach

CIA’s Continuing Education + Community Outreach program offers dynamic art and design classes for high school students, young artists and adults.

Each semester we serve all age groups by helping each student learn new skills or improve on existing skills. Our courses take place on Cleveland’s east side at the campus of Cleveland Institute of Art.

Don't miss your chance to take Forensic Facial Reconstruction this fall! 💀🧔‍♂️
Students explore the bones and muscles that shape the human face while learning how artists and forensic specialists reconstruct facial features from a skull. This course is a great opportunity to build sculpture and drawing skills while gaining a deeper understanding of how the face is formed, making it valuable for artists, illustrators, and painters alike!

Our All Access Life Drawing Pass Returns! ✍️
Through our Figure Drawing Pass ($100), you'll gain access to 8 drawing sessions where you'll draw the n**e figure and receive individual critique from the moderator. Just bring your favorite drawing or painting supplies!

This fall, we're excited to offer Intro to 3D Animation with Blender for both young artists and adults! 🎬

Artists interested in learning how to create 3D animations for TV, film, video games will explore keyframes, camera and lighting animations, manipulating a rig in pose mode and final rendering for animation!

Yesterday, Pre-College students connected with our admissions counselors for one-on-one portfolio feedback!

From strengthening presentation skills to learning what makes an application stand out, students gained insight into how to elevate their portfolios, show off their creative strengths, and understand what admissions teams look for in a competitive application!

Our NEW one-week course prepares young artists for our Pre-College program — a college-credit experience where students spend two weeks in our studios leveling-up their skills while getting a taste of what art school is all about!

In Pre-College Prep, students build essential skills in observational drawing, strengthening their ability to see, analyze and translate the world around you. Plus, they'll explore mixed media, experimenting with materials and developing a personal approach to making!
