Please join us in wishing a very happy 101st birthday to Mrs. Mary Catherine Gentry! Mrs. Gentry is one of our beloved retired Communication professors and a former Mississippi Christian University Distinguished Professor of the Year. Among her many visitors yesterday were Reid Vance and Vicki Williams from MC and James Ray, her deacon from Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton where Mrs. Gentry remains a faithful member and where her late husband Charles served as longtime pastor. We're thankful for Mrs. Gentry's life and legacy, and we wish her many more years to come!

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Cliff Fortenberry and Dr. Merle Ziegler on being awarded Professor Emeritus status! These two outstanding professors have devoted a lifetime of service to MC and its students. They were recognized on Monday by MC's president Dr. Blake Thompson at the opening convocation of our 201st academic session. Current students continue to learn from them both, as Dr. Fortenberry continues to teach Communication Law, and Dr. Ziegler teaches Communication Ethics.
