🌍 INFO OACES continues to support the Hope, Heal, and Mobilize Against Hate initiative with opportunities for learning, dialogue and community engagement.

We were pleased to welcome Marc Gwamaka, Engagement and Outreach Coordinator for the Kigali Genocide Memorial, for a session focused on preventing identity-based violence. During his visit, Gwamaka also joined Lesley Langa’s INST653 course to discuss how African museums and memorial institutions approach collections and cultural heritage narratives.

The University of Maryland Extension Marylanders Online team, in partnership with the UMD College of Information INFO. has officially launched the Maryland Digital Asset Map, a new, free resource for the public. 🗺️💻

Developed through extensive statewide outreach, this interactive resource hub visualizes nearly 450 digital inclusion resources and services across all 24 Maryland jurisdictions.

Whether community members or partners are looking for help, the map makes it easy to locate:

✔️ Digital Literacy Classes: Local training for building essential and advanced computer skills.

✔️ Connectivity & Devices: Nearby free Wi-Fi spots, affordable high-speed internet options, and refurbished device or hotspot programs.

✔️ Digital Navigation Services: Trusted local organizations offering personalized guidance.
