The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a pre-professional student organization that allows students to build lasting relationships and gain experience in the public relations field. lly recognized, dues-paying, professional organization. PRSSA is made of up more than 10,000 students across the country and offers professional development, networking opportunities and news. The UMD Chapter of PRSSA develops several events throughout the year to connect students with exciting opportunities in the field of public relations. offices of PR giants Edelman, Fleishman-Hillard, Ketchum and Ogilvy. We have also had alumni panels, resume workshops and professional guest speakers. Dues are collected annually in October and February and cost $65. Membership has several benefits, including being moved to the top of the list for events that have a limit of attendees (most agency field trips only allow for 10-15 people), and receiving access codes to http://PRSSA.org/ internship and job posting websites. If you are interested, you may fill out an application form and deliver the cash/check to the PRSSA Chapter mailbox located on the 2nd floor of Skinner near the administrative offices. You can also snail mail the check and completed application to: UMD PRSSA Chapter Treasurer, c/o Communication Department, 2130 Skinner Bldg., University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742.
