Dean's Welcome Back Celebration and Maryland Engineering Student Organizations (MESO) Fair 2026

Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) & A. James Clark Hall (1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

The Dean's Welcome Back Celebration kicks off at 11:30 a.m. in the Rotunda of the Kim Engineering Building. Enjoy walking tacos and Rita's Italian Ice and pick up a free Maryland Engineering t-shirt.

Then, at 1 p.m., move to the Leidos Lab & Zupnik Forum in Clark Hall for the MESO Fair. Meet representatives from Clark School and UMD student organizations, and learn how you can get involved in the great work they do. Connect with academic departments and cross-campus resources!

Millions of years of evolution have equipped biological swimmers with extraordinarily capable locomotion and sensing tools for the underwater environment. Inspired by Nature, our team aims to leverage the underlying principles to develop new technologies that can improve the efficiency and agility of unmanned underwater vehicles. In this talk, two such technologies will be discussed.
