NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Telescope will launch this weekend!

50+ Terps have been involved in every stage of its development, from building its structure at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (down the street from UMD) to designing experiments using its cameras and instruments.

The new telescope will orbit nearly a million miles from Earth, enabling scientists to investigate dark matter, dark energy and the structure of the universe.

To clean the Chesapeake Bay, two Terps created the Peer to Pier Network, teaching people on the waterfront how to raise their own oysters. The bivalves filter pollutants and sediment—one adult can clean 50 gallons a day—and help other species and fishermen thrive.
