“If you are going into a company or sales, always sell the best, premium product.” That’s the advice Brian Rechtman ’05 took to heart from his Smith School finance professor, and it’s guided him ever since.
While at Maryland, he was a finalist in Cupid’s Cup—an entrepreneurial competition that eventually became today’s Pitch Dingman Competition. That experience helped launch his journey as founder of BlueTree Marketing.
Bluetree sources and curates trips and experiences used by nonprofit organizations to raise money for their charities. “We act as a full concierge after the fundraiser is over, and we work with the winning bidders to directly book the entire experience.”
Nearly 20 years and 10,000 auctions later, he’s still focused on one thing: helping charities thrive through unforgettable experiences.
