The University of Maryland Memorial Chapel is a gleaming treasure that mingles rich historic tradition with modern relevance. Dedicated in 1952 in memory of University veterans, it remains a symbol of honor and distinction to this very day. The Chapel is located right off of Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue) on the University of Maryland, College Park campus. It is host to thousands of events each year,
including religious services, concerts, student group events, weddings, lectures, interfaith programs, and meetings. In 2010, the Garden of Reflection and Remembrance was created to provide members of the community a place for contemplation. The Garden contains water features, journals, and a labyrinth, all designed to encourage relaxation and repose. Special programming also occurs throughout the year, including guided meditation and candlelit labyrinth walks.
