Congratulations to Rachel Schine, assistant professor of Arabic and history, whose monograph “Black Knights: Arabic Epic and the Making of Medieval Race” is among the 10 works recognized this year by the Medieval Academy of America. Her award-winning research reexamines how race was understood in the medieval Arabic-speaking world—and why that history still matters today.
