Meet Rudy. 🐾
Named in honor of former Smith School Dean Rudy Lamone, this Warrior Canine Connection service dog in training carries the name of a beloved leader whose impact continues to shape the Smith community. A visionary champion for entrepreneurship, Lamone founded the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship—now the Dingman-Lamone Center for Entrepreneurship—and inspired generations of students through his leadership, generosity and unwavering belief in their potential. It was a special moment to welcome Linda Lamone to campus to meet Rudy for the first time.❤️

As the world celebrates soccer this summer, we’re celebrating one of our own. ⚽

Congratulations to Smith M.S. in Business Analytics candidate, newly announced Maryland Men’s Soccer captain, and 2026 M Club Rodman Postgraduate Scholarship recipient Albi Ndrenika!

The Rodman Postgraduate Scholarship honors former Maryland student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in the classroom, in competition, and through leadership—and Albi embodies all three. After overcoming a rare medical condition that sidelined him for more than 600 days, he returned to the pitch stronger than ever, earning 2025 All-Big Ten Second Team honors, leading the Terps with eight assists, scoring four goals—including three game-winners—and helping Maryland advance to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.

Now entering his final season as one of Maryland’s three team captains, Albi continues to lead by example. Head Coach Sasho Cirovski praised his unwavering commitment to the program, calling him “the heartbeat of our team” and highlighting the resilience, work ethic, and character that have made him a respected leader on and off the field.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Albi! We can’t wait to see what’s next.
