Balloon Stampede
Drive: 14 min | Cost: Free
One of our favorite local events. Held every May at Howard Tietan Park, this one’s worth setting an early alarm for.
Multnomah Falls
Drive: 3 hr 22 min | Cost: Free
The tallest waterfall in Oregon and the most visited natural recreation site in the PNW. Several great hikes nearby, just 30 minutes from Portland.
Trail Blazers Game
Drive: 3 hr 52 min | Cost: Student discounts available
Home of the Portland Trail Blazers and the closest NBA arena to campus.
Frog Hollow Farm
Drive 8 min | Cost: Free
A welcoming family-owned farm that often hosts student events and U-pick produce days. Especially beautiful in the fall and spring.
Jubilee Lake
Drive: 1 hr 19 min | Cost: $3 day-use fee
The most popular camping spot in our local area. Camping closes October 15, but the lake stays open for hiking after that.
Pike Place Market
Drive: 4 hr 10 min | Cost: Free
One of the most iconic spots in the PNW’s largest city. Plenty to see and do for a full weekend in Seattle.
Wooten Wildlife Area
Drive 11 min | Cost: Discover Pass Required
A hidden gem just off of Swegle Road with river access along the Walla Walla River. A great spot to get outside with friends for a swim or a picnic.
Village of Lights Christmastown
Drive: 3 hr 29 min | Cost: Free
The most festive spot in the PNW. A full-on winter wonderland during the holidays.
Ski Bluewood
Drive: 1 hr 15 min | Cost: Student discounts available
The closest ski area to campus, tucked in the Blue Mountains. Enroll in our Ski/Snowboarding class winter quarter and it counts for PE credit.
