Celebrating Dr. Mosadi Porter!
Lambda Lambda is proud to celebrate our sister on her recent accomplishment of becoming a fully Licensed Psychotherapist after transitioning from 25 year career in higher education!
Dr. Mosadi Porter’s journey to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor is one of courage, determination, faith, and purpose. After building a successful 25-year career in higher education, she made the courageous decision to leave behind the “salary, corner office, status, and notoriety” to start over in a new career field. Though the transition was uncomfortable and required long hours, financial discipline, and sacrifices, Dr. Porter continues to remind herself, “I am sacrificing now to create the life I want.” Inspired by the people she has supported, those who have supported her, and her own mental health journey, she found purpose in helping others heal. Her accomplishment represents “Greater Service, Greater Progress,” as she builds Wounded to Well Mental Health Services as “a vessel that can be used for healing.”
When asked what this accomplishment means to her, she shared: “To completely shift career fields in midlife after building a reputation and knowledge base in a particular field can be a little scary. While I loved my higher education career, it feels good to be walking in purpose while building something of my own. ”
