SAC Meeting #5: OpenRocket Workshop and Build Day

Come by from 6:30 to 7:30 to learn all about using and understand how OpenRocket software works! OpenRocket is an introductory software to use for high-powered rocketry: providing schematics, simulation data and more.

Followed by our first build day! Stay around after our meeting as officers will be carpooling to head to our Jason’s Deli Profit Share!

An Aggie Ring has been to the Moon. On October 29, you can meet the Aggie it belonged to.

SEDS TAMU is honored to welcome Gerry Griffin ’56 back to Texas A&M for a very special guest speaker event!

A Texas A&M aeronautical engineering graduate, Griffin went on to become a NASA Flight Director during the Apollo program and later Director of Johnson Space Center. During Apollo 12, astronaut Pete Conrad carried Griffin’s Aggie Ring all the way to the Moon and back, making it the only Aggie Ring known to have made that journey. Today, that same ring is displayed here on campus in the Zachry Engineering Education Complex.

Now, we have the opportunity to hear from the man behind it.

Join us for an evening with Griffin as he shares stories from Mission Control, the Apollo era, and a career at the center of American human spaceflight. This is a chance to hear the history we learn about in classrooms from someone who was actually there.

Come hang out with SEDS in Downtown Bryan for First Friday! We’ll be checking out local vendors, grabbing food, and just spending some time together outside of meetings 🚀

Join SEDS for the first Speaker Series event of the semester with Dr. Kevin Huffenberger, astrophysicist and professor at Texas A&M, as he talks about his work studying the origin and evolution of the universe.

Interested in space but not sure where to start?

The Student Astronaut Corps is one of the easiest ways to get involved with SEDS and start building useful skills, meeting people, and exploring different parts of aerospace.

This semester, SAC will include workshops, a development project, professional development trips, and opportunities to learn things like SolidWorks, OpenRocket, model rocketry, resumes, research, and more.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 6:30–8 PM in HRBB 204. Come see what SAC is all about!!
