Texas A&M University's (TAMU) Ecology and Natural Resource Teaching Area (ENRTA) is managed by the Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management (RWFM) Department. This property is managed to provide natural resource research, teaching and outreach opportunities within the Bryan/College Station area and to TAMU staff, faculty and students. At the ENRTA Main Office, we received a munch needed 3.4 inches of rain this past weekend! Our native planting sure needed! It was getting a little crispy in Brazos County.

🌾 Perennial Grass Spotlight: Fall Witchgrass 🌾

This warm-season native thrives in dry, rocky, or sandy soils across West Texas. Growing 12–30 inches tall, Fall witchgrass provides fair grazing for livestock and has a unique twist—its seed heads break off at maturity and tumble away like little tumbleweeds.

👉 Keep an eye out for this grass on your rangelands—it’s another piece of the puzzle in managing diverse and resilient pastures!
