Out now! Our newest issue of txH2O, Regenerative Agriculture: Can cover crops, no-till, and livestock grazing be profitable in the Southern Great Plains?

For over five years, the Agricultural Intensification and Enhancement Through the Utilization of Regenerative Agricultural Management Practices project has brought together researchers and graduate students from eight institutions and two states to study and understand how regenerative agriculture might play a future role in the region facing declining water resources and increasingly extreme weather conditions.

Last week TWRI Director Giovanni Piccinni, Ph.D., joined colleagues at the 2026 Turfgrass and Landscape Field Day at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Dallas.

As always, the field day provided the public with proven information on turfgrass management, irrigation, fertilization and new varieties. The crowd of over 200 attendees included industry leaders and stakeholders.

Educators joined us in Wimberley last week for our Central Texas WatershED workshop. These events provide educators with practical classroom activities and resources focused on local watersheds, water quality and stewardship.

Participants heard presentations from TWRI, The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA), Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Hays County, and Hays County.
