Congratulations to all the Hugo Award winners!

But Cushing Library is especially proud of Ada Palmer, who won the Hugo for Best Related Work for her stunning work of history "Inventing the Renaissance". Ada, a brilliant historian and Campbell Award-winning SF writer, is a former history professor at TAMU and we are honored to hold her literary archives here at Cushing.

Ada's work - both her fictional and nonfictional - is deep, thoughtful, and profoundly necessary for our times.

Cushing is pleased to announce the acquisition of the archives of acclaimed writer Ray Nayler, most well-known for his recent genre novels "The Mountain in the Sea", "The Tusks of Extinction", "Where The Axe Is Buried", and, just this year, "Palaces of the Crow".

Ray is an extraordinary gifted writer, deeply concerned with the nature of consciousness, both human and nonhuman, and his work is a treasure. It's our honor to be the custodian for his archives and for the future.

Our own beloved Martha Wells '86 is making quite the unexpected (to her) splash in the world of AI, thanks to Murderbot.

Martha Wells’ Platform Decay, the eighth installment in the Murderbot Diaries series, debuted May 5 as a New York Times, USA Today, and National Indie Bestseller — and landed in the middle of a live technical debate it has been dramatizing since 2017.
